Vote count: 0 I have three joined tables 'Student' , ‘StudentTransportOrder’ and 'Transport' in SQL server I have made a ‘StudentActivity’ view for this the 'Student' table each student record has a TransportOrderID however the table I have joined to has a 'VehicleID' this is recorded into the ‘StudentTransportOrder’ table if transport is used, even though the vehicle type may be different e.g. Train or Car Unfortunately the same transport id has been entered for the same date and time for a student records. sql server 2012 connection using Uid and Pwd defaulting to Windows Auth

Vote count: 0 I have an Excel workbook that will query a SQL Server 2012 database using VBA. Many users will temporarily use this workbook so I created a generic ID with SQL Server credentials only. Some of the users can execute the VBA and retrieve data without a problem. When other users try, the VBA ignores the provided coection string using the generic user and password and provides their windows credentials. Why are they sending their windows credentials instead of the credentials provided in the coection string? How do I force the coection to use the provided Uid and Pwd? The error message isCoection Failed:SQL State '28000'SQL Server Error 18456...Login failed for user 'DomainUserid' ...

Server part of application is ruing on Windows Server 2003 and Clients XP. Recently we switched from SQL SERVER 2005 to SQL SERVER 2012 (but database remaining in 2005 compatibility modus). The migration was quite smooth (just 1/2 downtime). Old server and clients are in same domain, new server is in a different domain (of course trusted). Authentication is done by SQL Server authentication. However now i got complaints about a sporadic performance degration on a specific action on a packaging client station. By putting some debug output into the co...
