Hows it going. Here is what is happening:
I have an Excel "program" where there are 200 workbooks that are linked to one another over a private cloud file sharing network. (Dropbox.com) Each workbook is edited from a different server but is still part of the same file sharing Dropbox network. It is also Macro enabled.
My goal is the following: I would like to have all 200 workbooks that are shared on this file network to have automatically updating links from VARIOUS servers.
The problem I am having: Users would have to manually open all of the 200 workbooks in order for their links to be updated. (They had access to all 200) After doing a few tests, my best reasoning is because each workbook is updated from a different server. This caot be an option for me.
I was told that establishing a database would do the trick but after using FileMaker Pro, I don't believe thats the case. I was able to upload data tables, but was not able to send the data back to the 200 other workbooks.
Furthermore, a lot of ODBC's did not allow workbooks to be Macro enabled
***Keep in mind also that I am not a pro at databases and am average at best at utilizing Excel. Just figured I would throw that in there.
Thank you for any help given.
