INSERT INTO statement not working VBA

I am using Access and have a INSERT INTO statement taking data from a global table (Assets) into a local table (tblTempAssetRequest) on another form.

Dim db As Database
Set db = CurrentDb

db.Execute "INSERT INTO tblTempAssetRequest (Item, Category, Description) SELECT Item, Category, Description FROM Assets WHERE Category = 'Tools'"

The code runs, but no records get populated in my local table. Any help would be appreciated.
