I use "screen" on OSX via USB-to-serial adapater as a terminal to coect to an exteal embedded system. The serial line has high data rate & the embedded system is "chatty", overflowing the screen so that all input characters entered locally get buried immediately.
Can "screen" or iTerm2 be configured to show a separate area for keyboard input like e.g. the Arduino "serial monitor" does?
