Are ES6 classes the same as the constructor function basically?

So I'm leaing es6.. and im not super advanced ni JS...

But as i understand it.. es6 classes are basically function constructors right ?

and of course with the benefit of not having to write stuff like this:

myFunction.prototype.myInheritablemethod= "someMethod";

Is this right ?

Im asking because im aware there is the module patte and the revealing module patte.. but those are not what the class in es6 is right ?
