Vote count: 0 I have a very simple piece of VBA code to copy the value of a cell, open another workbook, and paste that cell value into the newly opened workbook. It works perfectly in a normal module. But when I run the code in the ThisWorkbook module, for the purpose of triggering it when the file is saved, the other workbook will not open. Simpler macros like opening a MsgBox work fine in ThisWorkbook, however. Another weird thing is that the code DOES work in ThisWorkbook if I am viewing the code. A list with only a few numbers is in column A. A quantity associated with each number in A is also in column B, and column C contains a much larger list, with numbers that are and aren't in column A. I need to check if the number in C also exists in A, look up the quantity in B in the same row as the number in A, then retu into column D. When I then click the cell, the leading zeros are stripped and the comment disappears. This is not what I want since the zeros are part of the invoice numbers. How can I prevent Excel from doing that? The strings are coming from a MySQL database type varchar255 field by the way.
